Enam is the Head of Claims for West of England’s EasternTeam and is responsible for Members in the Middle East, Indian sub-continent, Africa and Europe. He is an English qualified solicitor and has worked in private practice with an international law firm. Prior to joining the Club, Enam also worked for another IG Club where he headed up the claims team for Europe and represented the Club on the International Group’s Claims Cooperation Subcommittee. His expertise is in major casualty management and he has handled some of the world’s largest major casualties. Enam represents the club on the International Group’s Production, Operation and Specialist Craft subcommittee.

A P&I club perspective of the mechanism of Oil spill response operations and also an overview of claims and the compensation regime. The talk will cover the role and involvement of a P&I club in any oil spill involving an entered vessel, with examples of how early involvement of the club can mitigate losses and help in managing the incident effectively using the clubs vast experience in such matters.
