Utilising the wealth of experience and knowledge ITOPF Ltd has gained in relation to claims and compensationover 50 years of responding to shipping incidents globally, this presentation intends to provide the audience an overview of the current international compensation conventions. Here, attention will be made to the scope of compensation available under the various regimes, identifying who are the paying parties, the types of claims that can be made and important considerations when submitting a claim for environmental or socio-economic damages following an incident.
